Due to cost, we do not perform further testing for gluten, but HeidiCakes mix is made from ingredients that are gluten-free. We hope to be gluten-free certified soon.
04/ What's in HeidiCakes mix?
Only 5 ingredients: Teff Flour, Garbanzo Flour, Cream of Tartar, Baking Soda, and Salt.
05/ How do you store HeidiCakes?
This is a hot tip: all flours should be stored in your refrigerator or freezer. HeidiCakes is fine on your pantry shelf but will stay fresher longer if kept cold.
06/ Why did you make HeidiCakes?
Heidi here! I have A LOT of food allergies (wheat, oats, corn, rice, eggs, soy, and dairy) and they make breakfast the hardest to figure out. What I missed the most were waffles, pancakes, and avocado toast so I started playing around with what we call "Heidi-approved" ingredients. Once I had a good basic mix it was my husband who perfected the recipe. I am more of a "feel your way through it" kinda gal vs "follow the recipe and measure everything"gal, if you know what I mean. Thanks to his dedication, you and I have a perfected product, and breakfast is tasty again.
